OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — The vaccination process is well underway, but some people are skeptical about getting the vaccine. In Nebraska, more than 55,000 people have gotten their first dose so far.

The vaccination process expanded this month.

Right now, the state vaccination dashboard shows Nebraska received nearly 134,000 vaccines.

Almost 4,700 Nebraskans already received their second dose.

For those skeptical of getting the vaccine, it is 95% effective and deemed safe for most people. Those with allergies or who have known allergic reactions to vaccines should not get it, or at least not without permission from their doctor who knows their medical history.

You are given mRNA messengers which are lipids, fats and salts that help your body manufacture bits of protein.

The side effects are similar to that of the flu along with some arm soreness where the shot was given.
