Douglas County Health Center requests supplies for residents

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Residents at the Douglas County Health Center have had to adjust their lifestyles during the COVID-19 outbreak to keep each other safe.

Since March 29, the health center has had 25 positive cases of COVID-19 in total, impacting staff members and long-term care residents.

Two residents of the health center have died.

The facility's administrative team are asking for supply donations to help bring the residents joy during a tough time.

Supplies needed include:

  • New packages of large print easy Sudoku puzzles
  • Word searches
  • Puzzles (fewer than 200 pieces)
  • Adult coloring books
  • Crayons
  • Colored pencils
  • Washable markers
  • Colored paper
  • Water color paint kits
  • Dry erase boards
  • Stretchy headbands with buttons to hold masks, Life Savers Mints and mint gum for staff

Those who would like to donate should call the health center's recreational team at 402-444-7413.

Anyone who is unable to make a donation but wants to support the facility can send post cards or drawing to residents at Douglas County Health Center, Attention Recreational Therapy, 4102 Woolworth Ave., Omaha, NE 68105.
