OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Due to a rise in COVID-19 cases, Fun-Plex has decided to shut down operations for the remainder of the season and says it has plans in place for people with unused tickets. The local amusement complex reopened just five weeks ago.

Fun-Plex released the following statement on its website:

For over 40 years, we have been committed to providing safe summer fun. It is with this commitment in mind that we have made the difficult decision to cancel the remainder of our 2020 season, effective July 28, 2020.

Due to the rise in positive COVID-19 cases in the Omaha metro area, and for the well-being of our staff, guests, and community as a whole, we believe it is the most responsible decision to end our season early.

We are so proud of our staff for everything they have done to make this summer possible. While this decision was not made lightly, we are already looking forward to another amazing summer in 2021.

Season Passes: All 2020 season passes, regardless of purchase date or whether they have been used or not, will be valid for the entire 2021 season.

Day Tickets: All unused 2020 day tickets will have their expiration date extended through the end of the 2021 season.

Cabana Rentals: All cabana fees will be loaded to your Fun-Plex account as a park credit. Park credits can be used toward any purchase and do not expire.
