OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Working from home can be a mental challenge but there are some things you can do to stay positive and productive.

Psychologist Stacey Miller says for good mental health, don't concentrate on what you can't do, but instead, stay positive and concentrate on what you can do. Start your day by creating a schedule for yourself.

Trapped inside four walls as you work from home, you have distractions like a bed, a tv, a sofa and video games - all great distractions when you work from home. Experts say you have to set a schedule, and keep your normal work hours.

Get up at your regular time to not interrupt your sleep schedule; when you set up your schedule for the day, set goals and track accomplishments.

Also, video conference and keeping in touch with coworkers will help alleviate feelings of isolation.

"Prepare for the workday like I'm physically going to work," Miller said. "Get up, eat breakfast, do my hair. If we do what we normally do, it really puts us in the productive and professional mindset."

You also want to take regular breaks and stretch throughout the day. Getting plenty of sleep and eating healthy will also help.

Although it may seem like a good idea, you don't want to work from bed as it can interfere with motivation & productivity. Instead, set up a work station in your home.
