OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Within the past week, some grocery stores began limiting the amount of meat customers can purchase due to limited supplies brought on by the closing of meatpacking plants. On Tuesday, Hy-Vee said they will be doing the same.

In a statement, Hy-Vee said customers will be limited to four packages of a combination of fresh beef, ground beef, pork and chicken beginning on May 6.

The policy is for all Hy-Vee locations.

Hy-Vee also said some specific varieties may not be available on store shelves.
