LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts announced the state's plans for distributing CARES Act funds on Wednesday.

The act is meant to help with the economic fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Gov. Ricketts announced that Douglas County will get $166 million out of the $8.3 billion awarded to the state of Nebraska.

Funds will come out of both pools of money to help Omaha's coronavirus-related expenses.
