LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — On Friday, Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts and others held a coronavirus briefing.
At his daily news conference on Friday, Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts was asked if he'd seen the video of George Floyd’s arrest and later death.
He said he had not seen the video himself, but from the news, said it sounds like this was an egregious violation of Floyd’s rights and the officer should be arrested and it should be taken care of through the justice system.
He also spoke about possible protests in Nebraska:
“In regard to the demonstrators this weekend, I encourage them to exercise their first amendment rights in a peaceful way, but I certainly understand and why a peaceful demonstration is called for.”
