OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — During times like these you can see the worst of people or the best, and Miss Omaha Outstanding Teen Daisy Sudderth, is showing the best.

Sudderth is an active, energized teen that remembers the energy it takes to keep a kid entertained. So she is offering to help out parents who may need a break while their kids are home.

Sudderth is volunteering to take the kids off the hands of parents for a while during the day. Following safety guidelines, she says she will wear a mask and gloves.

While practicing social distancing, she can play with kids, read to them on the porch - at a safe distance of course - or take them for walk.

"I grew up with a single mom so I know how it feels for a lot of parents to have to go to work and have to worry about their kids and what they are going to do," Sudderth said. "I don't want them to have to worry about that, especially with their kids being out of school for who knows how long."

Sudderth goes to Papillion South High School and is willing to help out homes within 15 to 20 minutes of the school district. Also available, is the option to do virtual, live chats where they can read or go over lessons.

You can contact Sudderth through her Facebook page. As long as her mom approves you, Sudderth will help with your kids for an hour or even a couple of hours.
