LINCOLN, Neb. (KMTV) - The Nebraska Legislature will not reconvene on Tuesday due to concerns about the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.
Speaker of the Legislature Jim Scheer made the announcement on Monday morning.
Sen. Adam Morfield says about two-thirds of the members of the Legislature are in the high risk category if they contract the coronavirus.
It is unknown when the Nebraska Legislature will reconvene.
This is a tough call, as many of us want to return because we have been working the last five days on emergency measures. That being said about 2/3 of the members of the Legislature are in the high risk category if they contract COVID-19. We will continue to work on solutions.
