OPD no longer responding to property vehicle accidents

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — The Omaha Police Department issued a statement on Twitter on Friday afternoon saying that it will no longer be responding to movable property damage vehicle accidents.

The announcement came as the department continues taking precaution against the coronavirus. The department encouraged drivers to handle these situations by exchanging information.

OPD is taking precautions to keep our citizens and officers safe as our community deals with Coronavirus (COVID-19). Effective immediately, we will not respond to movable property damage vehicle accidents. Drivers should exchange info. Further changes will take place next week.
