OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — As we end another week of working from home and just being at home, some people are starting to feel the strain with mood changes and possible early signs of depression.

While the lobby of Complete Behavior Health may be empty, the tele-health phone calls have been increasing. Many are feeling anxiety and even wonder if they are in the beginning stages of depression, having to be indoors for such long periods of time.

"We are all going through what would be called an adjustment disorder," said psychologist Kelly Tomayo. "We're all adjusting to the realty that we're are living in and that's well within the normal range of psychological experience."

While Tamayo says this is normal for our current situation, we do need to be conscious of our mental state.

"People should be aware of the symptoms, the early signs and that is: fatigue, irritability, poor concentration, decreased interest in the things you used to enjoy, finding yourself not having the motivation to get up and do the things you used to do."

To keep yourself from feeling further isolated, and needing to seek the help of a professional, she says get outdoors, enjoy nature, keep in contact with friends and even take up a hobby.

If you do find yourself needing to talk to a professional, you can contact Complete Behavioral Health at (402) 590-2947.
