OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — It's time to lace up those sneakers, because registration is now open for the Virtual Qua"run"tine 5K.

Although some sign up for the exercise, others were looking forward to being the first to cross the finish line.

"For those that feel competitive, I ask them to take their watch or their phone, do your distances, screenshot it and then #quaruntine5k and post it on my page," said Jayme Ramos founder of Freedom Running Company.

Ramos says people can do their run on a treadmill, track or the great outdoors.

Money raised from the run will go toward the Nest at Central High School.

"There are students whose parents have become homeless, and they don't feel comfortable asking for for these things," Ramos explained. "It provides backpacks, clothing, toothbrushes; for any student in need, no questions asked."

Runners, joggers and walkers have until the beginning of June to complete the 5k.

If you're interested in signing up, go to their Facebook page.

The virtual run is done on the honor system.

T-shirts and medals will be mailed to those who complete the 3.1-mile run.
