OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Sporting Omaha is helping those in the community by opening their doors and sidewalk to hold a drive up and donate food and soccer equipment event.

Drive up, donate and help those in need. Food is being collected for the Together Food Pantry.

Although all non-perishable food is accepted, breakfast food is in high demand.

"They are a homeless prevention agency," said Christina Lewis, Sporting Omaha Program Director. "They have contacts with all social agencies across Omaha. If a family is in a situation where they are behind in rent or utilities or have food insecurities, they are a place we can send families to."

And it's a dual collection. They are also collecting for Football for the World.

"They will accept any type of soccer equipment, old uniforms that people have outgrown, used soccer balls, cleats," said Lewis.

The spring program planned for disadvantaged kids has been canceled, so they want to be able to give kids items to keep them moving and motivated.

If you want to drop off some breakfast food or soccer equipment, stop by Sporting Omaha at 147th and Giles Rd. Tuesday between 9 am and 1 pm.
