Topgolf Omaha announced it will be opening to the public next week on Monday July 13th.

The interactive driving range was scheduled to open in late March but never did due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“We feel now is the time to open up to this community,” said Marcus Parent, Topgolf Omaha’s Director of Operations. “We wanted to make sure that we opened up in a very safe manner.”

Parent said the 72 bays are 11 feet apart and are perfect for social distancing. Staff will go through temperature checks daily and be wearing masks. Guests are not required to wear masks but it is strongly encouraged. As well, Parent said the staff will sanitize every club and the tables after each reservation.

“It’s our intention that every single bay and every single guest can enjoy their gameplay, they can enjoy their food, they can enjoy their beverages in as safe as a place as we could possibly provide,” Parent said.

As an extra layer of protection, Topgolf Omaha added protective shields between each table to keep guests safe while they’re eating. As well the bar will be closed for the time being and signs throughout the facility advise guests to practice social distancing.

“If that alone provided additional protective measures for our guests we felt it was the right thing to do,” Parent said.

At the start of the pandemic, Parent said he had to furlough some of his staff. More than 200 staff members will now be working at Topgolf Omaha once the facility opens.

“Now that our doors are opening we’re welcoming them back home and back to their jobs and not just generating revenue for ourselves but for Omaha,” Parent said.

While people are getting accustomed to a new normal, Parent added he hopes Topgolf Omaha can be a way to get people together, while staying safe.

Parent said guests can bring their own clubs to Topgolf if they feel more comfortable doing so and there are stands available to place golf bags in. He added 80-percent of the bays will be available for reservation only.
