Commuters in Southwest Omaha will face some changes on Monday.
Drivers who use 108 St. between Harrison and Q St. will have to find a different route for at least the next month.
In preparation for the construction project on 108th St. from Madison to Q St., MUD will close 108 at Borman Ave. for utility work.
The City will expand the existing two-lane street between Madison and Berry Plaza to a 4-lane roadway with a median. It will also turn the street from Berry Plaza to Q St. into a five-lane roadway.
Once MUD finishes its utility work, the City will begin preparing for construction in December.
Omaha Public Works will hold a pre-construction public meeting on November 13 at 6 p.m. at Hitchcock Elementary School to go over plans and alternative routes for nearby homeowners.
