Officials with the Douglas County Clerk of The District Court said on Thursday that two people have to face a judge after they failed to appear for jury duty.
"We are happy to report that the vast majority of the residents of Douglas County take their civic duty very seriously and serve their jury duty admirably," officials said.
"Unfortunately, there are a few who do not and fail to report for duty when ordered to do so by the court."
Officials say the two jurors will have the opportunity to explain their actions to a judge in a downtown courtroom on September 6th.
According to Nebraska law,if a person fails to show good cause for noncompliance, they may be fined, face possible jail time or be ordered to complete community service.
