Paramedics took a man and woman to the hospital tonight with serious injuries after a car hit them near 30th and Martin Avenue. It happened around 5:30 p.m.
The driver of the car, Joseph Benes was visibly shaken. He told KMTV he had a green light.
Benes said, "They just darted across, and I just came from that right hand lane and they ran right into my car. I had no chance of seeing them." He also said, "I feel I had nothing I could do - but it still doesn't make me feel better."
Benes says he was driving about 30 miles per hour at the time of the collision. He said he saw both moving after he hit them but the woman appeared to be hurt.
