2018 Officer of the Year awarded

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — The 2018 Officer of the Year Award was presented today to Sergeant Brent Kendall at the 19th annual Omaha Police Foundation Awards Luncheon today.

48 Omaha Police officers, one non-sworn personnel and the Patrol Rifle Instructor Unit were recognized for their outstanding work in the prior year. The Officer of the Year was be chosen from the honorees.

Former Congressman and Omaha Mayor Hal Daub chaired this year's awards luncheon.

Kendall was also one of the recipients of a Police Lifesaving Medal.
