NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KMTV) — Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) troopers arrested two people Monday after finding more than 200 lbs of marijuana in two separate traffic stops.
A trooper saw a Hyundai Santa Fe fail to signal a turn as it was exiting I-80 at the Ogallala interchange at approximately 5:40 p.m. MT.
According to the NSP, the trooper detected criminal activity during the traffic stop and searched the vehicle, locating 116 lbs of marijuana.
Erasmo Arteaga Chavez, 26, of Renton, Washington was arrested for possession of marijuana – more than one pound and possession with intent to deliver. Chavez was lodged in Keith County Jail.
Another trooper saw a Ford Explorer following too closely on I-80 near Kearney around 7:20 p.m. CT.
The NSP says the trooper observed signs of clandestine activity during the traffic stop and preformed a search of the vehicle, locating 95 lbs of marijuana.
Patricia Jolly, 57, of Pearl, Mississippi was arrested for possession of marijuana – more than one pound and possession with intent to deliver. Jolly was lodged in Buffalo County Jail.
