As we continue through spring, severe weather is back on the minds of many, including the second graders at Black Elk Elementary. The school got a visit from meteorologist Mark Stitz and learned a lot about the hurricanes, tornadoes, severe storms and a typical work day for a meteorologist.

Black Elk Elementary principal Jason Farwell appreciates visits like this because he wants students to be knowledgeable about severe weather.

"As we prepare for severe weather season, just making sure our students are as prepared as possible," he said. "I guarantee they're gonna go home tonight, this is going to be a topic at the dinner table."
