3 News Now welcomes morning anchor James Johnson

On Friday's edition of The Morning Blend, 3 News Now's James Johnson made his first appearance on KMTV. 

James, a two-time Emmy winner, will anchor the 5 a.m., 6 a.m. and midday newscasts alongside Emily Szink. 

James has been all over the United States in the last decade, he comes to Omaha from Bakersfield, California where he worked for two years as an anchor and reporter. Prior to that, he was a multimedia journalist in Laredo, Texas and he is originally from Las Vegas, where he lived and worked outside of journalism for seven years. 

In his spare time, James enjoys hanging out with his family, which includes wife Viridiana, his daughter Cora and a second child due in February of 2018. He also likes playing and watching basketball, where he can watch on he and Emily's favorite players, Lebron James. 

James will make his debut at the anchor desk on Aug. 21.
