OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Omaha's downtown area has a number of festivals and events coming up this summer which could see upwards of 30,000 people according to the Omaha Downtown Improvement District (ODID). With that influx in mind, ODID says additional security will be in place starting in June.

Currently security includes:

  • Two Lion's Gate Security Officers on Thursdays to Saturdays from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., and on Sundays from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.

In June, two more security officers will be on-duty during those shifts and 2-4 off-duty police officers will also be, "Strategically placed throughout downtown in our highest volume areas," says ODID.
