OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — June is Alzheimer's and Brain Awareness Month. Alzheimer's Disease is the only cause of death among the top ten in the US that cannot be prevented, cured or even slowed.

June 21st is known as The Longest Day. The Alzheimer's Association marks this awareness day on the summer solstice and spurs families into action in the fight against Alzheimer's.

Elizabeth Chentland with the Nebraska Chapter visited our studios to discuss the meaning of the day and resources available to those impacted by Alzheimer's and their caregivers. They invite any one with questions to visit their web site.
