COUNCIL BLUFFS, Ia (KMTV) — Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang was in Council Bluffs Saturday, opening a new campaign office, and rallying for votes.

After speaking to his supporters at the new office, Yang rallied for support by canvassing around town, and later holding a rally at a nearby pub.

"You heard at one point there's an Asian man running for president who wants to give everyone $1,000.00 a month. Remember that? And the first time you heard it you thought it was a gimmick you thought it would never happen," said Yang.

He says it's not gimmick, and believes it will help the economy. Yang stressed the importance of winning Iowa, and why every vote counts. Most Americans look up and think our votes can do nothing to influence our government thats been overrun by corporate interests, and unfortunately most of us are right. But here in Iowa, if enough Iowans get together and set us in a new direction than that can actually work to plush the pipes," said Yang.

Yang now has 13 offices in Iowa, and says he is excited to continue his presence there and meet more of the local community.
