Anonymous bidder gets Red Kettle ring after auction

Posted

In December, a diamond ring was dropped in a Salvation Army Red Kettle. It was no mistake, the anonymous donor had used the $2,500 ring for a proposal, but was rejected so he never wanted to see it again.

In January, the ring was appraised and put up for auction by the Washington County Salvation Army with bids starting at $1,600.

The Washington County told 3 News Now Thursday the ring was auctioned off for $1,675. They received three bids, one from Omaha, one from Blair and one from Ohio. The winning bidder was from Omaha and all bidders wished to remain anonymous.
