Taylor Royal declared his run for office on his Facebook page, promising a new vision for Omaha.
Royal says his goal as mayor would be to make Omaha more business friendly.
He joins State Senator Heath Mello as a challenger to incumbent mayor Jean Stothert.
The primary is in April with the top two finishers squaring off in the general election in May.
