Officials are investigating another inmate attack at a Nebraska prison today.
The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services says a staff member working at the Nebraska State Penitentiary in Lincoln was attacked by an inmate Tuesday.
“The officer was transported to a local medical facility as a precaution and for the treatment of minor non life-threatening injuries before being released,” NDCS said in a statement.
Officials will not release the names until an investigation is completed. They say finding will be sent to the county attorney.
This follows a report of another staff member attacked by an inmate on Sunday at the same facility.
Also this month, three staff members at Tecumseh State Prison were attacked, according to NDCS.
