Yet another staff member at the Lincoln Correctional Center has been assaulted by an inmate.
The latest attack happened Wednesday morning when the inmate struck the staffer after ignoring the staffer's order to leave the area. Nearby corrections officers assisted in subduing the inmate. The staff member who was assaulted declined medical treatment. As a precaution, one of the other corrections officers was taken to a hospital for assessment of a possible minor injury and released.
The names of the staff member and inmate are not being released. This is the third assault of a staff member by an inmate at the Lincoln facility in the last two weeks.
