Auto body shops still dealing with hail damage see spike from snow event

Posted

Auto body shops across the Omaha metro are seeing a bump in business following Thursday's snowy morning commute.

John Kinney says the weather is the biggest indicator of how busy his shop will be.

"its picked up since the weathers been bad. There was just a little bit of a lull in collision work," Kinney said. "I'm working on a little Toyota Corolla and the front bumper got knocked off it. We've got a car in here now that's been sideswiped. Just a variety. It depends on if they were on the interstate or a backstreet."

Kinney says he like other shops are still dealing with customers who have hail damage from a storm in June.

"We've had hail work since the summer and we still have hail work, but it slowed down just a little bit then once the weather hit now its kinda getting back where we're backlogged again," Kinney said.
