As Omaha continues to push West, places like Bennington have become very attractive and the school district there is adding hundreds of kids this year and next.

Now, the school board wants to build new schools and buy land for future construction and is hoping to get the money through a $36 million bond issue, nearly half of that money would go to adding a new elementary school.

The bond issue would also fund the remodeling of the district's administration building, add more parking for Bennington Elementary and add 16 classrooms to Bennington High School, which is expected to be overcapacity again in three years.

Bennington residents have until March 13 to turn in their ballots.
