It was the go to Birthday, Anniversary and Happy Hour Spot.  The brick building near 11th and Howard Streets housed so many memories a picture can’t capture.

“It wasn't just a space or another building.  It really meant a lot to a lot of people,” said M’s Pub server Emily Brewer.

On Friday, former M’s Pub server Emily Brewer shared some of her memories from behind a different bar.

“It feels like I’m talking about something that happened to someone else,” said Brewer.

Brewer was inside working when M's Pub exploded and the fire started.  That cold January day still haunts her, but the community has helped alleviate some of the pain.

“You know your mind can go to a dark place and you ask yourself what if and just any number of scenarios.  So it's been such a blessing for The Sydney to offer to do this for us,” said Brewer.

On Friday, The Sydney in Benson opened its doors to former M’s Pub employees.

“Mostly I just want everyone to have fun and get together and raise some cash for them so that they can find a little bit of financial ease,” said The Sydney manager, Heather Tedesco.

Heather Tedesco, The Sydney’s manager came up with the idea to hold a silent auction online and invite M's Pub employees to get behind her bar to be guest bartenders.

“I never expected for this little event to snowball into what it became,” said Tedesco.

Dozens donated items to be auctioned and The Sydney is expecting a packed house.

Brewer says events like these make her and her M's Pub crew feel the love.

“It's been mind blowing just to see how much M's Pub has meant to so many people and I feel very lucky to have been a part of that,” said Brewer.

The event at the bar runs until 2 a.m. Saturday.  The silent auction runs online until February 5th, click here if you'd like to bid. http://mspubfundraiser2016.eflea.ca/
