Bernie Sanders coming to Omaha to support Nebraska Democratic Party

Officials with the Nebraska Democratic Party announced that Sen. Bernie Sanders, DNC chair Tom Perez and Omaha mayor candidate Heath Mello will be attending a Democratic party rally on April 20th.

According to officials, the rally called “Stand Up, Fight Back, Vote Democrats,” will support of Democratic candidates in Lincoln and Omaha city elections.

“Local elections matter. We impact climate change with strong leaders like Heath Mello committing to clean energy jobs. We rebuild the Democratic party with strong leaders like Jane Kleeb bringing the grassroots into party,” said Senator Bernie Sanders.

“Organizing is hard work but it wins elections. Nebraska Democrats are standing up with working class families to create a more connected community for real solutions."

Officials said the "Stand Up, Fight Back, Vote Democrats” rally will take place at the Baxter Arena in Omaha.

The program will run from 6:00-8:00 PM, and doors will open to the public at 5:00 PM.

Officials said that there are 3,000 tickets for members of the public available in person at the Baxter Arena Box Office , Monday through Friday from 10 A.M.-6 P.M. or online atuniverse.com/nebdem.
