Blair Police arrested three people after finding stolen guns, knives, and drugs.
Loren Bailey, Brian Eggenberg, and Tasha Eggenberg were just passing through town but tried to steal items from Walgreens. When police found them, they saw the weapons and meth in their car.
“We are not sure what their intentions were with them, there is a possibility that we may have been able to avert some crime in the future,” said Lieutenant Aaron Barrow with Blair Police.
These three arrests fit in with the high crime numbers Blair experience this past year.
“Our calls for service are up at a level of volume they have never been at,” said Barrow.
According to the police department’s crime numbers, their 2015 numbers show they saw more vandalism, drug crimes, and thefts compared to 2014.
Barrow believes it has to do with more people in the area ,”it’s just volume, i think we have an increased daytime population in Blair with development with industry, with retail, four state highways that intersect right in the middle of town.”
On Sunday, Washington County Sheriff's deputies arrested Omrianna Fighter and Luke Hansen for having drugs and stolen guns on them as well.
Blair residents are not happy about the increase in crime.
“It’s terrible,” said Millie Conner, “as long as we have the good law enforcement to take care of us we depend on them.”
Blair Police are warning their resident that these crimes are going on, and they need to aware of who they are around and to take in their surrounding’s
