Bomb squad called to Bellevue neighborhood

UPDATED: 4:07 p.m.:  Offutt Air Force Base officials say the device posed no threat and was removed about 3:50 p.m.. 
 
 
Police and bomb squad technicians are investigating a suspicious device in Bellevue
 
Police were called to a home near 35th and Vandenburg Monday afternoon.  Sarpy County deputies say a postal carrier found an unusual black box in a community mailbox and called police to check it out. The immediate area has been cordoned off and evacuated There were no previous bomb threats.  The neighborhood is considered base housing for Offutt Air Force Base.
 
Bellevue Police, Sarpy County Sheriff's deputies, and the 55th Security Forces Squadron are investigating the incident.
