September is Brain Aneurysm Awareness Month. Right now, one in 50 people are walking around with an aneurysm; one bursts every 18 minutes in the U.S.
Shelly Gushard, who has a family history of brain aneurysms, had one earlier this summer. Doctors clipped it, but then she suffered a stroke.
Now, Shelly and her friend, Ashley, whose mother passed away from a brain aneurysm, are helping others, raising awareness with a simple message: "Listen to your body."
