OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Earlier in November, a federal judge tossed out a trademark infringement lawsuit filed by Texas rest stop chain Buc-ee's against Nebraska-based Bucky's.
The Buc-ee's lawsuit alleged that Bucky's was profiting off of its work and brand, saying the public may be confused by the name. This wasn't their first meeting in court either. In 2008, the two negotiated an agreement allowing Bucky's to expand its chain as long as both stores registered their names federally, according to our partners at the Omaha World-Herald.
Overall, there are 25 Bucky's in the Omaha metro.
