Buffett says election won't damage economy

Berkshire Hathaway CEO Warren Buffett says the upcoming presidential election will be important for the world, but the outcome will not damage the economy. 
 
Buffett made the comments during an appearance on CNBC Monday. Buffett says some of the country's past presidents have not been great, but business has thrived over time. Buffett says he remains confident in the nation's economy even if voters choose the wrong president. Buffett supports Democrat Hillary Clinton.
 
Buffett spent several hours answering questions at Berkshire Hathaway's annual shareholder meeting on Saturday.
