CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KMTV) - Ron Corbett, the Republican mayor of Cedar Rapids, has launched a campaign for governor.
Corbett served in the Iowa House from 1987 to 1999 and returned to politics in 2009, when he became the mayor of Cedar Rapids.
Iowa's current governor, Kim Reynolds, is also a Republican. Reynolds served as the lieutenant governor under Terry Branstad and became governor in May when Branstad was named the United States Ambassador to China.
The GOP primary is in June of 2018.
