The color pink will be much more than a fashion choice at an area hospital, it will represent the fight against breast cancer all month.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and CHI Health Mercy Council Bluffs will have survivors and their family and friends join the medical team in painting a huge pink ribbon on the hospital's front lawn.
In the past, the hospital has marked the month with a pink balloon release.
