OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Around 350 beds are available throughout the CHI Health system, if the coronavirus outbreak continues to spread, with room for up to 1,000 if need be.

Officials at CHI Health held a press conference today and said they're preparing for multiple scenarios.

They also recommend contacting their help line first, which they say should be your first step if you're concerned you may have contacted the coronavirus.

You first would have to fill out a questionnaire. Within 30 minutes a medical professional will give you a call.

"It's designed to be able to help folks screen themselves to be able to know if they actually need to go in somewhere," says CEO Dr. Cliff Robertson.

They also say they don't have an idea when it might peak, in fact, they hope the number of infections remains as steady as possible.

"The longer we can slowly contain and follow the infection prevention measures we have. We can kind of keep that low, and not peak as high," says Dr. Renuga Vivekanandan, an infectious disease specialist at CHI Health.
