Former Nebraska governor candidate Chuck Hassebrook will run for State Legislature in District 16, which includes Burt, Cuming and Washington counties.
The seat in District 16 is currently held by Lydia Brasch, who cannot run again because of term limits.
In 2014, Hassebrook lost to Pete Ricketts in the gubernatorial election with Ricketts getting more than 57 percent of the vote.
Hassebrook spent 18 years as a University of Nebraska regent prior to running for governor.
