City council to vote on body cameras Tuesday

Currently, not all Omaha Police officers are equipped with body cameras, but a vote from the city council Tuesday night could change that.

The council is expected to vote on the measure that would allow all officers to have body cameras by the end of the next year. The department expects to have nearly 600 body cameras that use an automatic feature to turn the camera on. In many cases, officers have to manually turn their cameras on.
