A measure that aims to ban people from standing on medians goes before the city council Tuesday. The city heard from citizens on the proposal and the council is scheduled to vote on the proposal.
It would keep panhandlers off the medians along busy intersections like 72nd and Dodge.
The mayor says its a public safety issue and the ACLU of Nebraska says the number of medians should be limited, police should give warnings first and it called on the city to work advocates for the homeless to find other ways to get help.
