OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — The City of Omaha has announced that plowing efforts on major and secondary streets have been completed. With this declaration, the 24-hour requirement for clearing sidewalks on private property has gone into effect.

The end of operations declaration was made at 6 a.m. this morning, so you will have until 6 a.m. on Thursday to clear you sidewalks. After that, if the city gets a complaint about your sidewalk, it will be inspected and assessed by the city. If you are found to be in violation after the assessment, you will be notified via a letter and given an opportunity to clear it.

Here's what the violation letter will look like:

Next, the city said, "Owners that do not comply with the notice of violation will be assessed for the cost of cleanup on their property."
