On this Martin Luther King, Junior Day, the community gathered to remember the messages he delivered during a troubling time in our nation.
At the Lord of Hosts Church near 138th and Q, local religious and civic leaders spoke about unity not only for the city of Omaha, but the entire nation.
The rally entitled 'We are One!" was headlined by Douglas County Treasurer John Ewing.
"There's still work to do I think that's the important thing that we always have to remember there's work that still needs to be done and each of us can play a role in that work" said Ewing.
Much of that work includes focusing on what unites us rather than divides us. Ewing said we should continue the work Dr. King started.
