COUNCIL BLUFFS, Ia. (KMTV) - The Council Bluffs Area Chamber of Commerce is launching a program called UNbelievable Workplaces CB which uses a survey to gain insight on your employees' satisfaction.

Workforce Development Director Alicia Frieze is noticing a shift in the professional world.

"When you start thinking about workforce in 1980s, you went in, you try to get the job and your boss led the way that they led, and you just followed the rules, you showed up to work every day, you punched in, you did what you were told and no one really valued you," Frieze said.

CEO Drew Kamp says that mentality is changing because working professionals have more options.

"They can on the drop of a hat decide they're done with something and move on, they know how to use the resources to make sure with technology and others, how to make sure they can find the best possible opportunity for them," Kamp said.

Kamp and Frieze hope this program will spark happier workforces and happier people.

"Work, of course, is where we create our income and that is such a stress factor on everybody that it's so important that what you do at work is valuable and that your boss cares about you, especially during a pandemic," Frieze said.
