A Council Bluffs man was one of nine Hy-Vee employees honored with the 2017 Hy-Vee Legendary Customer Service Award Wednesday.
Ron Coffey, the customer service manager at the Madison Avenue Hy-Vee, has worked with the company for 40 years and is known for his polite and cheerful attitude.
“To fully understand how great Ron Coffey is at serving customers, you must experience the interpersonal warmth and caring that Ron delivers to every single customer, every single day,” said Mitch Streit, Madison Avenue Hy-Vee store director in a release. “His integrity is beyond reproach and he is a man that delivers on his promise—always.”
Hy-Vee CEO Randy Edeker said Coffey is the type of employee the company had in mind when creating the award, which was established in 2006.
“Ron personifies what Hy-Vee stands for — helpful, honest and respectful service to our customers. His dedication to this community and the people who live in it is evident each and every day through his hard work,” Edeker said. “This award honors the best of the best, and Ron is most deserving of this recognition.”
In addition to the Legendary Customer Service Award, Coffey will be inducted into the Hy-Vee Customer Service Hall of Fame, receive a custom ring and be featured on the side of Hy-Vee trucks.
