Omaha is not the only Metro school system looking for a new leader.

Council Bluffs Superintendent Martha Bruckner announced Monday that she will retire at the end of the school year. Bruckner began as superintendent in 2007. Among her accomplishments as superintendent the district's graduation rate increased for 10 straight years with a 20% increase in the decade. Council Bluffs Community was also a two-time National All-America City Finalist in the categories of literacy and support for children and families. Bruckner was also recently named as the School Administrators of Iowa "Superintendent of the Year."

The Council Bluffs School Board will begin a search for Bruckner's replacement in early 2017.
