Today people in Council Bluffs headed to the polls to vote on a $20 million bond to build a new headquarters for Council Bluffs Police.

63% of voters approved the bond which was enough for it to pass - it needed 60%.

The vote came after more than 40 community meetings on the issue.

The police department currently works out of a 19,000 square foot office space that they call overcrowded and outdated.
