Wednesday marks a proud day for Creighton alumni, students and staff. The school will celebrate its 140th birthday.
Students and faculty will enjoy an ice cream social in the afternoon and Father Daniel Hendrickson will lead other activities.
When Creighton began classes in 1878 there were 120 students and two faculty members who took classes on a five-acre campus. Now, there are more than 8,000 students and 600 full-time faculty members on the 120-acre campus.
